Process and production planning for sustainable reconfigurable manufacturing systems (SRMSs): multi-objective exact and heuristic-based approaches

In today’s competitive environments, companies need to be cost-effective, environmental-friendly, and social-friendly deal with several challenges that exist in markets. this context, reconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMSs) have emerged fulfil these requirements. RMS is one of the attractive paradigms. Machine components, software, or material handling units can added, removed, modified, interchanged as needed imposed by necessity react rapidly cost-effectively changing. A multi-objective multi-product process production planning problem a sustainable environment (SRMS) considered paper. Three pillars sustainability, respectively social, environmental, economic are formulated optimised. First, linear mixed-integer model proposed. Second, Lagrangian relaxation-based approach developed solve on large scales, where an exact method used small medium cases GAMS software. To illustrate applicability proposed approaches, some numerical examples analyses presented. Finally, sensibility study according parameters performed.
